Trojans keep winning in Section 3-A

California kept pushing for a share of the Section 3-A title Tuesday night with a 64-38 victory over visiting Avella.

The Trojans improve to 7-1 in the section and 10-4 overall. The Eagles’ playoff hopes to a bit of a hit, slipping to 4-3 in the section and 6-10 overall.

California led 34-21 at halftime and then held a 30-17 advantage in the second half.

Kass Taylor had his fourth consecutive double-double for the Trojans with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Jaycee Conaway added 12.

Steven Miller led the Eagles with 13 points. Austin Lis finished with 10.
