Lady Leps defeat McGuffey, 73-42

The Belle Vernon girls took a break from section play Thursday night for a 73-42 victory over visiting McGuffey.

The Lady Leopards improve to 6-12 overall, while the Highlanders fall to 1-15.

Belle Vernon led 44-24 at halftime and then cruised over the final 16 minutes to secure the home victory.

Ashley Russell led the Lady Leopards with 16 points. Kelsey Green finished with 13 points, seven assists, six steals and five rebounds. Keira Boff was also in double figures with 11 points.

Kati Demi scored a game-high 20 points for McGuffey.
