Dimmer honored

California University of Pa. sophomore Lena Dimmer was named the PSAC-West Athlete of the Week for her play this spring.

The Luxembourg native is 14-2 through the spring season, 6-2 between first and second singles and 8-0 in doubles.

Baseball

Yourgal top pitcher

California University of Pa. junior Joe Yourgal was named the PSAC-West Pitcher of the Week after his performance Sunday in the Vulcans’ 9-0 victory over Clarion.

Yourgal needed only 59 pitches for the 7-inning complete game victory. He allowed just two hits and hit one batter, and didn’t allow the Golden Eagles’ runner reach scoring position.

Primarily a catcher, Yourgal was honored earlier in the season as the conference athlete of the week.
