By The 1 min read

California ruled the singles and McGuffey ruled the doubles in their non-section boys tennis match on Thursday.

Fortunately for the Trojans, there are more singles matches, which led to a 3-2 victory for the visitors.

John Monroe and Josh Wohar got California off to a good start at No. 1 and No. 2 singles as both cruised to 6-0, 6-0 wins, Monroe over Nick Loughmar and Wohar over Chase Vallo.

Austin Sutch completed the singles sweep with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Erich Durbin in the No. 3 battle.

In doubles, the Highlanders’ Gabe Huffman and Alec Nemeth defeated Tyler Troutman and Bryce Hite in the No. 1 match, 6-0, 6-4, while McGuffey’s Trey Bellville and Derrick Bedillion topped Dylan Beckowitz and Jordan Rossell in the No. 2 clash, 6-4, 6-3.
