Yough trounces Lady Mikes, 13-1

Allie Harvey had three hits, including a triple and a double, and drove in two runs as Yough opened its season with a 13-1, six-inning non-section win over Carmichaels in softball action at the Ripken Experience Tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Olivia Miller also smacked three hits, with a double, and had two RBIs for the Lady Cougars (1-0). Alona Sleith and Kayley Westerman both doubled and singled for Yough, which also got two hits apiece from Cassidy Pearce and Hannah Bach.

Winning pitcher Macy Mularski struck out 11 in tossing a two-hitter.

The Lady Mikes (0-1) got both their hits in the fifth inning to produce their only run. Kaitlyn Wilson doubled and scored on Gina Rainer’s single.

Laura Walker struck out four and walked two in taking the loss.
