WrestleMania, by the numbers

WrestleMania by the numbers
We are one week away from WrestleMania, and while most feel that this year’s edition will be average at best, the event is still known the world over.
The injury bug has demolished the original card for the show, but I still feel that the WWE will find a way to leave people talking after the event.
Next week, we will look at the card and make predictions, but today we will look at a few numbers of WrestleMania.
3 — The number of venues that Mania 2 emanated from: Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, Rosemont Horizon, and the L.A. Sports Arena.
6 — The number of wrestlers, with a minimum of three matches, that are undefeated at Mania.
14 — The number of announcers that have called matches at a Mania.
15 — How many wrestlers that have wrestled at 10 or more Mania’s.
16 — This will be the Undertaker’s 16th straight Mania. John Cena is next with 12 in a row, but he will not wrestle this year at Mania thus ending his streak.
23 — How many WrestleMania’s the Undertaker has wrestled at. He is 22-1. Triple H is next with 19.
367 — How many different people wrestled at least one match at a Mania.
103,219 — The attendance number that the WWE might announce it has “topped” as it would mean that it beat Super Bowl XLV in 2011.
1,409,253 — The combined attendance of the first 31 WrestleMania’s.
Backstage news on Bryan and Bella
Earlier this week, the WWE pulled Daniel Bryan off of all appearances for WrestleMania week and the European tour taking place shortly after.
His wife, Brie Bella, gave notice that she would be done with the company this summer, but now she could be done as soon as the Raw the night after Mania.
Another brand split coming?
There has been talk for a month about the WWE returning to separate Raw and Smackdown brands.
Recently released advertising materials and merchandise have led to believe that the talk may be more than just a rumor.
Kofi’s new WWE record
According to wwe.com, Kofi Kingston became the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team champion of all-time at 541 days last Saturday, and the record stands today at 549 days.
The count includes both reigns with the New Day, one with R-Truth, and one with Evan Bourne.
Headed to WrestleMania?
Are you on your way to the Dallas area for WrestleMania?
If so, email me.
I will be there as will several other local wrestling fans that frequent this column.
After the show ends, I would like to get your thoughts on the event for a special version of this column that will run the Tuesday after Mania.
Mania predictions
In next week’s column, I will be giving my Mania predictions and I will share some of yours as well.
Email me your picks and a brief reason for each.
I will put some of them in next week’s column.
Wyatt to be elevated?
Several readers have emailed about why Bray Wyatt has not been wrestling on TV as of late.
He has been recovering from a back injury and, at the March 14 edition of Raw, Wyatt was moving around very slowly backstage.
He may take part in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal at Mania.
Look for two of his upcoming feuds to be against Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns.
Two leave TNA
Last week, both Bobby Roode and Eric Young, two former TNA heavyweight champions, gave their notice to the company.
Both men have been with TNA for over 10 years and both approached the company about a pay raise.
When they were denied, Roode and Young requested their release and both were granted them immediately.
