Uniontown errors costly in 5-0 loss to Yough

By The 1 min read

Uniontown starting pitcher Leighlyn Guthrie allowed only Kayley Westerman’s single in the sixth inning Wednesday, but six errors undid the performance in a 5-0 Section 4-AAA loss to Yough.

The Lady Cougars (1-0, 3-0) scored singles runs in both the top of the first and second innings. They added two in the top of the fifth and one more in the seventh.

The Lady Raiders (0-2, 0-2) only had one hit, but Macy Mularski induced a double play to face the minimum of 21 batters.

Guthrie struck out seven and walked two.

Mularski struck out 11 and didn’t have a walk.
