Roaring Lions lose opener to Division II Lock Haven, 94-53

Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, lost its season opener to Lock Haven, 94-53, on Friday in the Wolf’s Bus Lines Classic held at Shippensburg University.

The Bald Eagles (1-0), who are a Division II team that plays in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), held a 50-29 lead at halftime and outscored the Roaring Lions, 44-24, in the second half.

Lock Haven shot 49 percent from the field, scored 38 points off turnovers and 36 of its points came off the bench.

Dominick Jackson led the Roaring Lions (0-1) in scoring with 23 points on 8 of 18 shooting, including 5-9 from three-point range. He was 2 of 2 at the line and grabbed three rebounds and had two assists.

Spencer Perieff put in 11 after making 5 of 17, including one 3-pointer and London Hoxie scored 10 on three 3-pointers and one free throw. Hoxie has seven of Fayette’s 37 rebounds.

The Roaring Lions look to get back on track when it plays host Shippensburg today at 8 p.m. tonight.
