Scott nets 9 goals in Warriors’ 9-5 win

Wesley Scott scored three consecutive natural hat tricks Thursday night, as he accounted for all the scoring in Elizabeth-Forward’s 9-5 PIHL Division II victory at Morgantown.

Scott scored five goals in the first period and two in each in the second and third periods.

The Warriors (2-5-1) led 5-1 after the first period and 7-3 after the second.

Elizabeth-Forward goalie Blake Huck faced 34 shots, turning aside 29, to preserve the win.

Morgantown’s Joshua Broadman made two saves on four shots and Sydney Smith had 17 saves on 24 shots.

Morgantown slides to 0-7-0.

Ringgold 8, Blackhawk 4 — The Rams scored four goals in the first period on their way to a PIHL Division II win at Blackhawk.

Todd Nathan, Jacob Booher, Noah Schroeder and Emery Anden scored in the first period to give the Rams a 4-1 lead.

Nathan’s second goal for the lone tally in the second period.

Nathan’s empty net goal at 15:31 of the third period gave him the hat trick. Devin Brown and Anden also scored in the third period.

Evan Cook faced 23 shots, making 19 saves for the Rams (4-3-1).

Matthew Bibbee made 11 saves on 15 shots for Blackhawk (0-7-1), while Cassandra Smith finished the game with six saves on nine shots.
