Steelers defeat Colts 28-7 behind Antonio Brown’s three TDs
INDIANAPOLIS — The Steelers defeated the Indianapolis Colts 28-7 Thursday night at Lucas Oil Stadium to improve to 6-5 on the season.
Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown connected for three touchdowns as the Steelers totaled 369 yards of total offense. Brown finished with 91 yards receiving on five receptions, and Le’Veon Bell tallied 120 yards on the ground with a touchdown.
The Steelers scored on their opening possession of the game, driving 52 yards on seven plays, capped off by a 5-yard touchdown Bell run. Roethlisberger then found Brown on a 25-yard touchdown to gain a 14-0 lead by the end of the first quarter.
After the Colts answered with a touchdown, Brown made a tip-toe catch in the back of the end zone for a 33-yard score with 9:08 left in the first half.
The Steelers defense made two critical goal-line stops in the second and third quarter that helped preserve a 21-7 lead before Roethlisberger threw his third touchdown to Brown with 5:30 left in the game.
Defensively, Lawrence Timmons led the team with nine total tackles as the Colts were held to 273 yards of total offense. The Steelers sacked Tolzien three times and intercepted him twice.
The Steelers will next face the New York Giants on Dec. 4 at Heinz Field.
