Connellsville rallies past Morgantown

Connellsville overcame 1-0 and 2-1 deficits with back-to-back goals from Ryan Brown in Tuesday night’s 4-3 win over Morgantown in PIHL hockey action at the Ice Mine.

Brown also assisted Jeffrey Golembiewski’s game-winning goal that came at the 16:12 mark of the third period.

Michael McKitrick scored Connellsville’s other goal, which erased a 1-0 Morgantown lead 6:23 into the second period.

The Falcons improved to 2-6 with the win, while Morgantown fell to 0-8-1 in the Varsity Division II segment of the PIHL.

Connellsville goaltender Gerald Furajter stopped 17 of the 20 shots Morgantown fired his way.

Lukas Currence scored a goal and assisted on another for Morgantown. Quintin Smith and John Weihman also scored for Morgantown. Sydney Smith stopped 17 of Connellsville’s 21 shots on goal.

Connellsville’s next game is Tuesday against Burrell (6-0-1) at 6:30 p.m. at the Ice Mine.
