Adrianna Gottheld is Charleroi's fall sports female selection in the Centennial Chevrolet Scholar/Athlete Spotlight program.

For Charleroi senior student-athletes Adrianna Gottheld and Errict Tedrow, the light at the end of the tunnel is approaching at the speed of light.

“It is really upsetting to be ending because I have had such a great soccer career,” said Gottheld. “We have been to the playoffs every year.

“But I am honored to be nominated for this award.”

“I’m excited to start a new chapter in my life but I will miss high school,” said Tedrow. “I have enjoyed it but am ready to go.

“With this award nomination, I am honored to be acknowledged for this type of achievement.”

Classmates and friends since Kindergarten, the pair have excelled in the classroom and in their respective sports, and for their efforts, the pair are Charleroi’s fall sports selections in the Centennial Chevrolet Scholar/Athlete Spotlight program.

Gottheld, who has a 3.5 GPA, is the daughter of Scott and Paula Gottheld of Charleroi. Tedrow has a 3.8 GPA and is the son of Scott Tedrow of Charleroi and the grandson of Barbara and John Tedrow of Charleroi.

A four-year starter on the Charleroi girls soccer team at striker for two years and now in her second year at midfield, Gottheld has played soccer since she was four years old.

When asked what the highlight of her career have been so far, she did not hesitate to answer.

“Playing at Highmark Stadium and being the WPIAL runner-up (last year) are my highlights so far,” she said.

While Gottheld is undecided at which college she will attend, she has her major lined up.

“My course of study will be to major in nursing,” she said. “And in 10 years, I hope to be working in a hospital as a nurse.”

Gottheld lists Jennie Finch as her favorite professional athlete and said that her dad has had the greatest influence on her athletic career.

A multisport athlete, Gottheld also plays softball, basketball, and runs track and field.

Tedrow is a four-year starter at linebacker for the Charleroi football team, has been playing football since he was five years old, and also plays basketball and baseball.

As far as his career highlight, Tedrow, the school’s all-time leading tackler with over 300 tackles, did not hesitate to answer.

“Beating Monessen earlier this year has been my biggest career highlight,” he said.

Tedrow said that Bo Jackson and Ernie Davis have had the greatest influence on him as an athlete and he said that Russell Wilson is the professional athlete that he admires the most.

“He is a great leader who donates most of his off-time helping other people,” Tedrow said.

While Tedrow is undecided about a college and major, he hopes to be living in California or Hawaii in ten years.
