OLSH pulls away from Mikes, 45-28
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to pull away from visiting Carmichaels and earn a 45-28, in a non-section football game on Friday night.
The Mikes (1-1) held a 12-7 lead after the first quarter on a 1-yard touchdown run by quarterback Jonathan Christopher and a 23-yard scoring run by Cody Brown.
Those two scores were sandwiched around a 28-yard touchdown pass by Tyler Bradley to Matt Schnarre to get OLSH on the board.
The Chargers (1-1) went ahead on Dante Trombetta’s 12-yard TD pass from Bradley early in the second quarter followed by Bradley’s 1-yard TD run with 8:31 left in the first half to make it 19-12.
The Mikes took the lead back, 20-19, on Christopher’s 15-yard run and two-point conversion run with 1:30 left in the second quarter, but it only took OLSH 30 seconds to go back in front on Bradley’s 40-yard TD pass to Markus Jenkins for a 25-20 lead at the break.
Schnarre broke free for a 64-tard touchdown run early in the third quarter to extend the lead to 13, but Carmichaels answered with Brennan Pelzer’s 5-yard TD run to make it 31-28.
Bradley put the game away with a 38-yard touchdown pass to Trombetta and OLSH’s Austin Wigley added a 20-yard TD run to cap the game’s scoring.
