Lubrani’s four-under leads Belle Vernon past Laurel Highlands

Belle Vernon’s Mike Lubrani shot a four-under par 31 to help lead the Leopards past Laurel Highlands, 202-230, on Thursday at Duck Hollow Golf Club in Section 2-AAA boys golf action.

Lubrani’s teammate, Deven Judy, carded a 39 on the Front 9 of the Par 35 course. Belle Vernon’s Greg Fedor scored a 41.

The Mustangs’ John Ek fired a 41 for his team’s low round. LH’s Caleb Matthews finished his round at 43 and Cain Basinger had 46.

Jake Caldwell (44) and Derek Frolo (47) finished the scoring for the Leopards (9-2, 9-3).

Olivia Soom (47) and Jeff Golembiewski (53) rounded out the scoring for Laurel Highlands (6-4, 6-4).

The Leps’ Blake Paul (47) and the Mustangs’ Matthew Santilli (57) finished their rounds but the scores were not factored in the team totals.
