Buccaneers rally past Commodores
Chartiers-Houston scored five runs in the sixth inning to rally past Frazier, 10-6, in Section 1-AA action on Monday at Chartiers-Houston.
Frazier (2-1, 2-3) held a 6-5 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth, but the home team rallied for five runs to improve to 2-1 in section play and 2-2 overall.
The Commodores scored one run in the top of the first but Chartiers-Houston responded for two runs in its first turn at the plate for a 2-1 lead.
Frazier tied the game at 2-2 but the Bucs scored one run in the bottom of the inning for a 3-2 advantage. The Commodores took a 4-3 lead with two runs in the third and extended their lead to 6-3 with a two-spot in the fourth.
Chartiers-Houston cut into the deficit with one run each in the fourth and fifth innings before exploded in the sixth.
Zach Southern picked up the win on the mound for the Buccaneers. He had three strikeouts and didn’t walk a batter.
Frazier’s Tyler Dorcon was 3-for-3 with a double and two singles. Teammate JD Celaschi, who suffered the loss on the mound, doubled for the visitors.
The Commodores’ Austin Miller had his team’s third double. Teammate Logan Kulikoski was 3-for-3 with three singles.
Frazier hosts Bentworth (2-1, 3-3) this afternoon in a make-up Section 1-AA game. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:15 p.m.
