California track teams sweep Charleroi
California (boys) 100, Charleroi 40; California (girls) 95, Charleroi 46 – The California track & field teams kept rolling through the 2017 season Tuesday afternoon, defeating visiting Charleroi in Section 6-AA action.
The Trojans defeated Charleroi, 100-40, and the California girls won 95-46.
California’s Jaycee Conaway swept the jumps, winning the long jump (19-0), triple jump (37-6), and high jump (5-0).
Dustin Mock (110 high hurdles, 17.36; 300 intermediate hurdles, 46.54), Tyler Rothfuss (100, 11.75; 200, 24.74), Charles Roberts (1,600, 5:17.09; 800, 2:15.62), Cameron Bell (3,200, 12:48.73), Tim Sheehan (shot put, 39-1), and Hunter Tatum (discus, 96-7) also had first-place finishes for the Trojans. California won the 3,200 relay (9:50.02) and 400 relay (47.29).
The Cougars’ Nick Laskie (400, 56.34), and Davon Davis (javelin, 97-10) finished first, as did the 1,600 relay (4:30.09).
Ashley McIntosh (100 high hurdles, 16.12; 300 intermediate hurdles, 47.41; long jump, 15-5; triple jump, 34-5), Anna Elko (1,600, 6:50.52), Nicole Anderson (3,200, 16:41.32), Marissa Bitonti (shot put, 26-10; discus, 81-1; long jump, 15-5), and Annalise Gillespie (high jump, 4-10) all finished first for California.
The Lady Trojans also won the 3,200 relay (11:52.15) and 400 relay (54.33).
Jessica Day (100, 13.36; 200, 28.73), Sierra Short (800, 2:48.18), and the 1,600 relay (4:44.32) had first-place finishes for the Lady Cougars.
