Albert Gallatin golfers continue winnings ways in defeating Connellsville
Albert Gallatin continued its winning ways with a 210-245 Section 2-AAA boys golf victory over Connellsville on Monday at Pleasant Valley Country Club.
The Colonials (3-0, 3-0) had one birdie, 15 pars and 22 bogeys, while the Falcons (0-2, 0-3) had three pars and 24 bogeys.
Albert Gallatin’s Aaron Fetzner shot an even-par 34 on the front nine, and had the lone birdie in the match on the par-four No. 2 hole. Teammates Cole Bogozi and Jarred Provance carded 42s.
Nolan Porterfield’s 43 was the low round of the day for Connellsville. Teammate Chase Richardson fired a 44, and the Falcons’ Mike McKitrick shot 51.
Dom Neino and Chandler Goodwin finished their rounds at 46 for Albert Gallatin.
Bobby McLuckey (52) and Nate Stefano (55) rounded out the scoring for Connellsville.
The Colonials’ Ethan Davis (53) and the Falcons’ Cole Marian (56) completed rounds that weren’t factored into the scoring.

Laurel Highlands 196, Ringgold 241 — The Mustangs had three golfers shoot under 40 en route to a Section 2-AAA match over the Rams at Rolling Green Front.
John Ek (36), Cain Basinger (37) and Steven Ross (39) put Laurel Highlands in good position.
Seth Callaway (42), Nick Kolano (44) and Tyler Long (48) paced Ringgold’s attack.
Greg Hensh and Olivia Soom fired 42s to round out the scoring for the Mustangs. Jeff Golembiewski’s 47 wasn’t used.
Zach Jones (53) and Cole Bianchi (54) finished the scoring for the Rams. Alex Bottino’s 59 wasn’t counted in the scoring.

Greensburg Central Catholic 221, Frazier 234 — The Centurions’ Jake Skoloda earned medalist honors with a one-over par 38 in leading his team to a Section 2-AA win over the Commodores at Mt. Odin Golf Course.
Dominic Lee’s 43 led Frazier’s attack. Teammates Isabella Kudyba (44), Bryanna Bakos (44), Elyse Elliott (51) and Emi Curcio (52) rounded out the scoring for the Commodores (2-1, 2-1).
Zach Boore (43), Ben Ritenour (44), Dalton Bogac (45) and Cam Ganter (51) finished the scoring for Greensburg Central Catholic (3-0, 3-0).
Frazier’s Kayla Hartman finished her round at 60, while the Centurions’ Sean Palcic carded a 57. Neither round was factored into the scoring.

Burgettstown 208, Bentworth 231 — The Blue Devils’ Clark Miller carded a two-over 37 for medalist honors in Burgettstown’s Section 4-AA win over the Bearcats.
Bentworth’s Christian Sadler and Luke Dziak shared low rounds for their team at 41. Teammate Justin Kisner scored a 49, while Katie Babirad and Steven Mazutis finished their rounds at 50.
Garrett Stephens (40), Gia Hooper (42), Scott Ferris (43) and David Scruppi (46) finished the scoring for the Blue Devils (2-1, 2-1).
The Bearcats slip to 1-2 in section and overall play.

Brownsville 239, Beth-Center 273 -Dalton Mullen carded his first under-par round, leading Brownsville to a 239-273 Section 8-AA victory Monday at Carmichaels Golf Club against visiting Beth-Center.
Mullen finished with a 1-under 36 with a round that included two birdies.
Lindsay Sethman (44), Caleb Olesko (46), EJ Victor (51), and Jake Defigio (62) closed out the scoring rounds for the Falcons (2-1, 2-1). Mark Sheranek’s 65 wasn’t used.
Noah Wible was the low man for the Bulldogs (0-4, 0-4) with a 9-over 46. Genin King (50), Anthony Dellapena (52), Dylan Shashura (56), and Nick Skariot (69) counted in Beth-Center’s final score.
Girls tennis
Kiski Area 5, Connellsville 0 — The Lady Cavaliers were too much for the Lady Falcons in Section 1-AAA girls tennis action at Kiski Area.
Connellsville’s Leah McIntosh held her own at No. 1 singles, but lost to the Lady Cavaliers’ Kylee Zafina, 6-2, 5-3. Kiski Area’s Lea Schaffer downed Sydney Dally, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 2 singles.
The Lady Cavaliers’ Erica Starba was too much for the Lady Falcons’ Aminah Herbert at No. 3 singles in a 6-1, 6-1 win.
Kiski Area downed Connellsville in both doubles matches. Catelynn Brown and Liv Shirley topped Harley Martin and Shelbey Leffman, 6-0, 6-2, and Maurmoura Donntell and Lex Vollick bested Alyssa Lessman and Lydia Pirl, 6-0, 6-2.
The Lady Falcons return to action on Wednesday when they host Hempfield at 3:30 p.m.
