Lady Mikes defeat Monessen, 44-40

The Carmichaels girls controlled the first and third quarters, and the advantage was enough for a 44-40 victory Saturday night over Monessen in the consolation game of the Charleroi Tip-Off Tournament.

The Lady Mikes (1-1) held a 31-18 advantage in the first and third quarters, while the Lady Greyhounds had a 22-13 edge in the other two quarters.

Kristina Aeschbacher led the Lady Mikes with 15 points. Kylie Sinn added 13. 

Natalia Holmes scored a game-high 16 points for Monessen.
