Fayette women lose on the road
The visiting Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, women’s basketball team fell behind in the first quarter Friday night and were unable to rally in a 76-52 loss at Penn State Beaver in PSUAC action.
The Lady Roaring Lions go to 2-1 in the conference and 3-4 overall, while Penn State Beaver improves to 4-1 and 4-6.
The home team led 23-12 after the first quarter and 39-25 at halftime. Penn State Beaver extended its lead to 61-37 after three quarters.
Taylor Harbaugh led Penn State Fayette with 15 points. Ashley Sharp and Haley Moreland both scored 12.
Brittany Jackson scored a game-high 16 points for Penn State Beaver.
The Penn State Fayette men salvaged a split of the PSUAC doubleheader with a 74-65 victory.
The Roaring Lions (3-1, 5-3) led 39-32 at halftime and outscored the home team in the final 20 minutes, 35-33.
Marvin Sidon and Atrayo Matthews shared scoring honors for Fayette with a game-high 19 points apiece. Iman Young had 13, John Bristol finished with 11 and London Hoxie came off the bench to add 10 points.
John Foster led Penn State Beaver with 18 points.
