Cal’s Urie wins 200 IM

Although the margin was less than a second, California University of Pa. sophomore Alyson Urie won the 200 IM Tuesday night at the Holiday Time Trial Invitational held at Indiana (Pa.).

Urie, a Connellsville graduate, won her race by nine-tenths of a second with a PSAC qualifying time of 2:17.16.

Teammate Danielle de Perrot finished second in the 50 freestyle in a conference qualifying time of 25.69 seconds. Kira Goin was second in the 100 butterfly in a qualifying time of 1:01.70.

The 200 freestyle relay team of de Perrot, Goin, Arli Tilves and Kayla Sudbrink finished first with a time of 1:43.38. Rebecca Wilkerson, de Perrot, Goin and Tilves won the 200 medley relay in 1:54.70.

Lauren McAnany (500 freestyle, 1,000 freestyle) and Krista Wycinsky (200 freestyle) had second-place finishes.
