Power play goals difference in Rams’ 4-2 win
Ringgold 4, Moon Area 2 – Ringgold scored three power play goals in the first period Thursday night as the Rams upended visiting Moon, 4-2, in PIHL Division 2 action.
Moon loses for the first time this season, now standing at 11-1-0. Ringgold improves to 8-2-0.
Nathan Todd opened the scoring just over eight minutes into the game when he scored on a power play. Evan Eberlein and Richard Boysen assisted on the goal.
Boysen netted the second power play goal at 10:39 with Noah Schroeder and Eberlein assisting on the goal. Ryan Marek made it 3-0 at 13:42 on a power goal assisted by Schroeder and Boysen.
Moon’s Shane Handlovitch netted a power play goal at 1:12 of the second period, but Todd returned the Rams’ lead to three goals with a goal about a minute later.
The Tigers’ John Kaminski scored the lone goal of the third period.
Evan Cook made 29 saves to preserve the win. Moon’s Lukas Konecsni turned aside 40 shots.
