Lady Cougars claw Monessen, improve to 6-1
Charleroi roared out to a 17-3 in the first period and never looked back in securing a 70-10 girls basketball victory over Monessen in the Lady Trojans Holiday Classic on Wednesday.
Kaitlyn Riley scored a game-high 23 points to pace the Lady Cougars (6-1). Bella Skobel followed with 12 points and Maria Claybaugh added 10 points and six assists.
Charleroi also got 11 rebounds from Sierra Short and 12 assists from Aislyn Lee.
Zakavia Hairston led the Lady Greyhounds (1-6) with five points.
