Colonials ride hot start to 83-62 win over South Park

Albert Gallatin 83, South Park 62 – Albert Gallatin exploded for 25 points in the first period and went on to pummel South Park, 83-62, in the Ligonier Valley Holiday Tournament on Wednesday.

Colby Uphold led a host of four Colonials (5-4) who finished in double figures with 18 points. Freshman Nate English followed with 16 points, Matt Rankin chipped in with 14 and Zach Knox made three 3-pointers in adding 13.

AG led 25-14, 44-30 and 70-46 at the breaks.

Devin Turner had 16 points for the Eagles (3-4). Michael Graham tallied 12 points and Damon Smith added 11.

The win put the Colonials against either Derry or Ligonier Valley in the championship game at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
