Poling nears 1,000 after 26-point effort
Frazier 57, Albert Gallatin 46 – Brooke Poling poured in a game-high 26 points as Frazier fought off Albert Gallatin for a 57-46 girls basketball victory in the Laurel Highlands Holiday Tournament on Thursday afternoon.
Poling now has 980 career points and can hit 1,000 with a 20-point effort today against Uniontown at LH. Tip-off for that game is set for 2:30 p.m.
Abby King helped keep the Lady Colonials (3-4) in the game with a 23-point effort.
The Lady Commodores (4-3) led 17-11 after one period but AG pulled within 25-22 by halftime. Frazier took a 40-35 advantage into the fourth quarter where it out-scored the Lady Colonials 17-11 to put the game away.
Sierra Twigg had a strong effort with 19 points for the Lady Commodores.
Albert Gallatin has an 11 a.m. match-up today at LH against Preston (W.Va.).
