Cal women win on the road, 87-56

The California women outscored Gannon in each quarter Tuesday night as the visiting Vulcans returned home with an 87-56 victory in PSAC West action.

The Vulcans (6-1, 12-1) led 21-12 after the first quarter and 38-24 at halftime. The visitors pulled away in the second half with a 49-32 scoring advantage.

California’s Miki Glenn scored a game-high 29 points. She also had nine assists.

Shatara Parsons scored 15 points, with California teammates Seairra Barrett (13) and Abbey Sporio (11) also finishing in double figures.

Maggie Mitchell led Gannon (3-4, 3-10) with 16 points.

Men’s basketball

Gannon 93, California (Pa.) 88, OT — The Vulcans rallied in the second half to force overtime, but the Golden Knights carried the extra time for a PSAC West home victory.

Gannon (4-3, 6-5) led 49-33 at halftime, but California outscored the home squad in the final 20 minutes, 44-28.

Robel Teckle poured in 31 points for the Vulcans (0-7, 3-10). Luka Andjusic finished with 18 and Jay Tucker added 17.

Zay Jackson led Gannon with 28 points. Gerrell Williams finished with 15, while Damon Miraud and Matthew Dogan had 11 apiece.
