Meadville tops EF in PIHL hockey
Meadville 17, Elizabeth Forward 3 – First-place Meadville had two players score hat tricks in a 17-3 win over Elizabeth Forward in PIHL Varsity Division II Class B action Thursday evening at the Rostraver Ice Garden.
Luke Triola got the ball rolling for Meadville by scoring the first two goals of the game. He added his third goal at 3:07 of the third period for the hat trick.
Colin Weber scored in each period and managed to get the game winner at 15:26 of the first period to give Meadville a 4-1 lead.
Brandon Gregg and Jeffery Millin had five-point nights for Meadville. Millin scored two goals and had three assists, while Gregg scored one and assisted on four others.
Wesley Scott paced the Warriors with a pair of goals and an assist for three points. Michael Vasko also scored for EF, while Matthew Hickey had two assists.
Bryce Hanna made an amazing 38 saves for EF, but faced an equally amazing 55 shots on goal. Edward Kaufman IV saved 11 of the 14 shots he faced for Meadville.
Meadville improved to 14-0-0 with the win, while Elizabeth Forward fell to 2-11-2.
