Inclement weather hinders Fayette American Legion playoffs
The weather has not been kind to the Fayette American Legion baseball playoffs.
The opening round was scheduled to being Friday with four games, but only Colonial 3 and Carmichaels were able to play with Colonial 3 earning a 4-2 victory.
The entire slate of games on Saturday were washed out due to rain, and Jefferson-Morgan had to forfeit out of the playoffs due to a lack of players.
League president Brad Yohman, who also serves as Uniontown’s coach, has done some shuffling and will look to play five games this afternoon and evening.
Farmington will travel to Hutchinson Field to play top-seed Uniontown at 1 p.m. in the winner’s bracket. Also in the winner’s bracket, No. 3 seed Connellsville travels to No. 3 seed Smithfield-Fairchance at 1 p.m.
Colonial 3 will await the winner of Farmington and Uniontown at 6 p.m. If Uniontown wins, Colonial will head to Hutchinson Field. Uniontown will host its second game at 7:05 p.m. If Farmington is victorious, it will travel to Rowes Run to play Colonial.
Carmichaels will meet the loser of the Farmington and Uniontown game at 6 p.m. It will travel to Hutchinson if playing Uniontown, or it will host Farmington at Wana B Park.
Belle Vernon forfeited to Connellsville in the first round will be on the road of the loser between Connellsville and Smithfield-Fairchance at 6 p.m.
