Mill Run defeats Mitch’s Bail Bonds, 11-2
Dakota McWilliams belted a 3-run home run and Alan VanSickle pitched a complete game Wednesday to lead Mill Run to an 11-2 Fayette County Baseball League victory over visiting Mill Run.
McWilliams’ home run was the key hit in the home team’s four-run fourth inning. McWilliams also had a pair of singles.
Mitch’s Bail Bonds (14-4) scored a run in the top of the second and added their second run in the top of the fifth.
Mill Run (10-9) scored a run in the bottom of the fifth and put the game away with six runs in the sixth.
VanSickle allowed eight hits, struck out nine and walked two in the complete-game victory.
Chris Firestone doubled for Mill Run. Nolan Porterfield had a pair of singles and two RBI, and Tanner Orndorff finished with a pair of singles.
Jack Oberdorf led Mitch’s Bail Bonds with a double and two singles. Ryan Encapera also doubled.
Mitch’s Bail Bonds closes the regular season tonight at Better Edge. Mill Run finishes the season Friday when it hosts Little Joey’s Pizza.
