Prexies hold off Beth-Center, 3-0
Washington 3, Beth-Center 0 – Despite being one-hit, Beth-Center still had the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the seventh with Washington holding on for a 3-0 non-section win at CONSOL Energy Park.
A walk and an error brought the tying run to the plate for the Bulldogs (0-2), but both runners were stranded.
Starting and winning pitcher Conner Bedillion allowed Beth-Center’s only hit, a single by Tyler Zelenik in the first inning.
Washington’s Steve Shallcross tripled and scored the first run of the game in the first inning.
The Prexies added two more runs in the second inning with the the last run unearned.
Anthony Dellapenna started for the Bulldogs and went three innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits with two strikeouts and one walk.
Beth-Center travels to Brownsville Thursday afternoon.
