French homers in 3rd straight game; Lady Leps roll

By The 1 min read

Jordan French hit a home run in her third straight game and Bailey Parshall did the rest in the Lady Leopards’ 9-0 Section 2-AAAA victory over the Lady Titans on Thursday.

French’s two-run homer was enough run support for Parshall, a Penn State recruit, who didn’t allow a run on two hits in seven innings. She had seven strikeouts and walked two to improve to 4-0 in the circle this season. Parshall helped her own cause with a triple, single and two RBIs.

Belle Vernon’s Alex Sokol had two doubles, and Mekenzie Sokol had an RBI single. The Lady Leps’ Kourtney Gavatorta had three singles and two RBIs. Teammate Lexie Church added two singles.

Annalise Modrick took the loss for West Mifflin (0-2, 2-2).

Belle Vernon (2-0, 4-0) returns to action this afternoon when it heads to Frazier in non-section play.
