Sipple scores twice in Falcons’ 4-1 victory over Kennedy Catholic

Travis Sipple scored Connellsville’s first goal and added an insurance tally in the second period to lead the Falcons to a 4-1 victory over Kennedy Catholic on Tuesday night at The Ice Mine in PIHL Division 2 play.

Sipple’s goal came at 8:53 of the first with Ryan Brown and Gregory Hensh adding the assists. The Golden Eagles (3-3-1) tied the game at 10:32 of the first on Hunter Deal’s unassisted goal.

Connellsville’s Michael Mckitrick scored the game winner at 11:59 of the first. Sipple and Brown added the helpers.

Brown and goalie Gerald Furajter set up Sipple’s power-play goal at 12:29 of the second, and the Falcons (3-2-1) took a 3-1 advantage into the third.

Abrahm Thomas set up Jeffrey Golembiewski for Connellsville’s fourth goal at 14:32 of the third.

The Falcons outshot Kennedy Catholic, 34-17.

Furajter stopped 16 shots and Golden Lions goalie Carsen Burkhart made 30 saves.
