Lady Raiders complete section sweep with win over McGuffey

Waynesburg Central 9, McGuffey 0 – Rhea Kijowski scored three goals and added three assists as Waynesburg Central completed a sweep through section play for the first time in school history with a 9-0 win at McGuffey in girls soccer action on Monday night.

Madison Clayton also scored three goals along with an assist for the Lady Raiders who finished the regular season with a 16-1 overall record and a perfect 12-0 mark in Section 3-AA. Jillian Kijowski contributed three assists in the win.

Kayley Pell scored a pair of first-half goals to go along with three by Rhea Kijowski and one by Clayton as Waynesburg jumped out to a 6-0 halftime lead.

McKenzie Booth stopped four shots in notching the save for the Lady Raiders, who put 26 shots on goal.

Michele Culp-Alston tallied the final goal for Waynesburg, which also got assists from Abby Virgin, Kylie Sinn and Claire Garber.

The Lady Highlanders fall to 3-11-1 overall and 2-9-1 in section play.
