Leopards prep for playoffs with win over Scotties

Belle Vernon 5, Southmoreland 1 – Belle Vernon prepped for the upcoming WPIAL boys soccer playoffs with a 5-1 non-section victory over host Southmoreland on Monday night.

Aaron Brown scored two goals for the Leopards (13-4-1) and Hunter Martin, Brandon Forte and Markello Apodiakos also found the net.

Martin and Brown both scored in the first half as BV took a 2-0 lead and stayed in control the rest of the way.

Came Guees made two saves and Anthony Stone made one for Belle Vernon. Guess improved his school-record goals against average to 0.38.

The Scotties end their season with an overall record of 9-12-1.
