Farino places third in Freedom Invitational
Southmoreland’s Kaylee Farino turned in a strong performance Monday at the Freedom Invitational in the final tuneup before next week’s WPIAL Championships.
Farino finished third on the course at Brush Creek Park with a time of 20:43.
New Brighton’s Alyssa Campbell won in 19:40 and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart’s Haley Hamilton was second in 19:55.
Belle Vernon freshman Grace Henderson earned a top-10 finish after she placed fifth in 21:28. Teammate Hannah Seitzinger was 11th overall with a time of 22:05.
The Lady Scots’ Joselyn Busato was 53rd overall in a time of 25:08.
Belle Vernon’s Brett Seich followed up his FCCA Championship title run with a fifth-place finish in 17:53.
Riverview’s Ben Barnes won in 17:03 and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart’s Christopher Kocent was second in 17:26. Freedom’s Adam Hessler was third with a time of 17:35, just five seconds in front of Freeport’s Johnathan Asay.
The Leopards’ Jake Sepesy was 71st overall in 20:41. Justin Haney was Southmoreland’s first finisher in 151st place overall in 26:55.
