Erminio recognized
Pitt-Johnstown redshirt senior and Laurel Highlands graduate Marissa Erminio was named the PSAC Central Division Volleyball Athlete of the Week for her play in three matches last week.
Erminio led the Mountain Cats in kills in all three matches, posting 14 in a 3-0 win against Lock Haven, 15 kills (plus 30 digs) against Stroudsburg, and 10 kills against Kutztown. She totaled 39 kills and 49 digs over the three matches.

PSAC honors Baker
California (Pa.) senior defensive lineman Justin Baker was named the PSAC Western Division Football Athlete of the Week for his strong defensive effort in the Vulcans’ 21-19 win Saturday against Clarion. Baker finished with a career-high nine tackles (six solo) and blocked a crucial point-after after the Golden Eagles cut the score to 21-13 late in the fourth quarter. He had two tackles for a loss and a sack.
Cross country
Cal U to host PSAC meet
California University of Pa. will host the 2017 PSAC Cross Country Championships Saturday at Roadman Park.
The women’s race begins at 10 a.m., with the men’s championship to follow at 11.
The Shippensburg women look to defend their team title, the eighth time the Raiders.
Shippensburg also won the men’s title by a 47-54 margin over Lock Haven.
