The Connellsville girls volleyball team extended the 2017 season Tuesday night with a 3-0 victory against Kiski Area in the WPIAL Class AAAA preliminary round match at Norwin.

The Lady Falcons (11-6) return to action Thursday night when they travel to North Allegheny to face the top-seeded Lady Tigers at 7:30 p.m.

Connellsville swept past the Lady Cavaliers by the scores 25-23, 25-15, 25-19.

Maggie Means had another stellar defensive effort for the Lady Falcons with 48 digs. Lauren Bubarth was strong at the net with 11 kills and two blocks, as was Elli Cook with a team-high 13 kills. Sara Ellis had 32 assists and four aces.

Class AA

Burrell 3, Southmoreland 2 – The Lady Scots’ season came to an end with a loss in the preliminary round of the WPIAL Class AA playoffs.
