Waynesburg women defeat Geneva, 2-1
The Waynesburg women’s soccer team rallied from a 1-0 deficit Wednesday night to close the home schedule with a 2-1 PAC victory over visiting Geneva.
Emma Gozzard’s goal in the 51st minute tied the game, then Emily Hill scored the game-winner in the 64th minute. Jill Moyer assisted on the tying goal and Melanie Byler set up the winning goal.
Heather Fraser made three saves to preserve the win.
The Yellow Jackets improve to 3-5-0 in the conference and 7-8-1 overall. The Golden Tornadoes slip to 2-6-0 in the PAC and 5-11-0 overall.

Gannon 3, California (Pa.) 0 — The visiting Vulcans fell behind 2-0 in the first half and was unable to rally in the second half for a PSAC road loss.
California slides to 3-10-2 in the conference and 3-11-2 overall. The Lady Knights improve to 10-3-2 in the PSAC and 11-3-2 overall.
California’s keeper Michaela Colon made 11 saves and now has 104 saves this season to become the fifth goalie to crack 100 saves in a season.
Men’s soccer
Mercyhurst 2, California (Pa.) 1 — Mercyhurst built a two-goal lead at halftime and then held off visiting California (Pa.) for a victory in PSAC men’s soccer action.
Eric Campbell scored his team-leading fifth goal in the 68th minute to draw the Vulcans to within a goal. However, California was unable to get off another shot attempt in the final 20 minutes as the Lakers defense clamped down.
The Vulcans’ Lucas Exner made eight saves to keep the match close.
California (2-8-0, 2-13-0) closes the season Saturday on the road at Lock Haven.
