All-WPIAL, section soccer honors released
Waynesburg Central senior forward Madison Clayton and her WPIAL-leading 54 goals headline the All-WPIAL selections across the four classes.
Clayton, teammate Jillian Kijowski (sophomore midfielder), Brownsville junior Mary Lemesh and Yough sophomore forward Justine Appolonia were all named to the All-WPIAL Class AA team.
Belle Vernon’s Lexi Demko, a senior midfielder, and Elizabeth senior midfielder Natalee Chornak earned Class AAA honors, while Bentworth’s Jocelyn Timlin, a junior forward, and Cande Kossel, a sophomore goalkeeper, were named to the Class A team.
Connellsville sophomore midfielder/forward Callie Cunningham and Norwin senior goalkeeper Samantha Wexell, daughter of Herald-Standard Steelers correspondent Jim Wexell, earned honors in Class AAAA.
The Section 2-A team included Bentworth’s Timlin, Kossel, Rori Schreiber (sophomore midfielder/forward), Paige Marshalek (sophomore forward), and Lindsay Davis (sophomore midfielder), Beth-Center’s Sydney Urbine (junior midfielder/forward), Geibel Catholic’s Piper Scarry (senior forward), and Monessen’s Destiny Habeck (senior goalkeeper).
