Lady Warriors defeat Connellsville, 5-1

Penn-Trafford 5, Connellsville 1 – Connellsville tied the match early in the second half, but visiting Penn-Trafford scored the final four goals for a 5-1 Section 4-AAAA road victory.

The teams played to a scoreless tie in the first half.

Lauren Stovar broke the tie for the Lady Warriors (1-0, 2-2) with a goal at 32:48.

But, Connellsville responded two minutes later when Callie Cunningham set up Jordan Porterfield for the tying goal at 32:29.

Penn-Trafford regained the lead on Hannah Nguyen’s goal at 30:19. Brady Tramata (26:47), Haley Hoffmeister (25:11), and Lauren Stovar (3:37) capped the scoring for the Lady Warriors.

The Lady Falcons’ Allison Zavatchan made eight saves, while Penn-Trafford’s Victoria Anderson turned aside four shots.

Connellsville plays top-ranked Norwin on Wednesday.
