Lady Raiders win first match of season, top Greensburg Salem, 3-1

Uniontown 3, Greensburg Salem 1 – Uniontown won its first match this season with a 3-1 Section 2-AAA victory over Greensburg Salem on Wednesday in girls’ soccer action.

The Lady Raiders’ Maeve Carei scored twice, and teammate Hanna Merschat added a goal for coach Lara Dowling’s squad.

Sydeny Gaton scored for the Golden Lions (0-3, 0-4).

Uniontown improved to 1-2 in section play and 1-5 overall.

The Lady Raiders return to the pitch on Saturday when they travel to play Geibel Catholic (0-4, 0-4) in a non-section match at 1 p.m.
