Roaring Lions golf team competes Bernie Guss Classic

Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus fell to PS New Kensington and PS DuBois in the Bernie Guss Classic at The Links at Spring Church on Tuesday.

DuBois won the event with a score of 310 while DuBois barely beat out the Roaring Lions, 332-333.

DuBois’ Dan Smith was the medalist with a 73.

Charlie Fetzner led the way for Fayette with a 78 that put him in a tie for fourth place overall, while Noah House tied for seventh with an 80. They were followed by Gage Clark (86), Austin Clark (89), Haley Brothers (95), Eric Silbaugh (97) and Jake Wallace (103).

“This match was a good warmup for our next conference match on Monday at the Penn State White Course,” Roaring Lions coach Dave Gumbert said.

Waynesburg 383, Bethany 420 – Aaron Hill and Ivan Li each shot a 95 as Waynesburg University defeated Bethany in a PAC men’s golf match, 383-420, on Tuesday at Southpointe Golf Club.

The Yellow Jackets’ Will Purbaugh was one shot behind with a 96 and teammate Alex Orlandini shot 97.
