Lady Mikes hand Mapletown first loss

Carmichaels 12, Mapletown 0 – Gina Ranieri and Shelbee McCann drove in three runs apiece as Carmichaels handed Mapletown its first loss of the season, 12-0 in five innings, in a Section 2-A softball game on Friday.

Kylie Sinn tossed a four-hit shutout with two walks and three strikeouts.

The Lady Mikes (5-4, 3-2) scored three runs in the first and five in the second to take an early 8-0, then added four more in the fifth.

Ranieri and McCann both hit a two-run double and an RBI single. Emily Menhart also had two hits for Carmichaels.

Madi Blaker struck out four, walked one and hit two hit batters in taking the loss. Katherine Fox had two hits for the Lady Maples (4-1, 2-1).
