Red Raiders’ rally falls just short iin 5-4 loss to Titans
West Mifflin 5, Uniontown 4 – Uniontown’s rally came up one run short in the bottom of the seventh as the Red Raiders fell to visiting West Mifflin, 5-4, in a Section 3-AAAA baseball game on Monday night.
Uniontown trailed 5-2 going into its final at bat. A two-run double by Connor DeMoss cut the gap to one run but the Titans (10-3, 7-2) held on for the win to remain just a half game behind first-place Ringgold in the standings.
The Red Raiders (6-6, 4-5) travel to Ringgold on Wednesday.
Winning pitcher Ben Visnesky struck out six and walked two in six innings. Jake Arbasak had a double for West Mifflin.
Losing pitcher Jeremy Saliba also worked six innings. He struck out four and walked one.
Wyatt Lepley had three of Uniontown’s nine hits, including a double.
