Crile homers, strikes out 12 as B-C doubles up Burgettstown, 8-4

Beth-Center 8, Burgettstown 4 – MacKenzie Crile had two hits, including a home run, and was the winning pitcher as Beth-Center doubled up host Burgettstown, 8-4, in Section 3-AA softball action on Thursday.

The win gives the Lady Bulldogs (2-7, 2-5) a one-game lead over the Blue Devils (1-9, 1-6) and Fort Cherry in the battle for the fourth and final playoff spot in the section.

Crile struck out 12 and walked four in tossing a five-hitter.

Paige Moore tripled and singled, and Bailey Minerd also had two hits for B-C.

Losing pitcher Tori Carnes allowed 11 hits and four walks, but struck out 11.
