South Park 17, Waynesburg Central 7 – Kaylyn Pavlick rang up 10 RBIs with three home runs as first-place South Park shook off host Waynesburg Central, 17-7, in a six-inning Section 3-AAA softball game on Thursday.

Pavlick’s trio of long balls included two grand slams, and Kelli Mesick also homered for the Lady Eagles (7-1, 7-0). Laura Shinavski had four hits, winning pitcher Jess Dean had three, including a double, and Kaitlyn Morrison contributed two hits and four runs.

The Lady Raiders (6-6, 4-3) put up some strong offensive numbers as well but couldn’t stay with the powerful visitors. Rachel Elsenheimer homered and doubled, Sidney Hare blasted a three-run homer, Brooke Meek had two singles and an RBI, and Bailee Shimek also had two hits.

Jordan Sibert suffered the loss, which dropped Waynesburg one game in back of second-place Southmoreland.
