Lady Raiders clinch playoff spot despite loss at Trinity

Trinity 70, Uniontown 30 – Uniontown clinched a playoff spot despite suffering a 70-30 loss at first-place Trinity in Section 3-AAAAA girls basketball action on Thursday night.

Coach Penny Kezmarsky’s Lady Raiders (7-11, 4-6) secured at least a tie for fourth place when Greensburg Salem lost at Connellsville on Thursday.

Trinity (17-3, 11-0) jumped out to a 23-6 lead over Uniontown in the first period and pulled away from there.

Mya Murray topped the Lady Raiders with 11 points.

Alayna Cappelli scored a game-high 17 points for the Lady Hillers. Jayme Britton and Riley DeRubbo added 15 and 12 points.
