Lady Vikings pull away in fourth period to defeat Steel Valley
Mount Pleasant 54, Steel Valley 45 – Mount Pleasant outscored visiting Steel Valley 21-12 in the fourth period to earn a 54-45 win in a non-section girls basketball game on Monday night.
The Lady Vikings were up 7-6 after the first period and 22-19 at halftime before the Lady Ironmen forged a 33-33 tie heading into the final frame.
Mount Pleasant bounced back and pulled away for the victory.
Chloe Jaworski tallied a game-high 18 points for the Lady Vikings (8-13). Morgan Farrah and Kelsey McCafferty led Steel Valley with 16 and 15 points, respectively.
It was the season finale for both teams.
