Raiders power past Montour, 71-3

Wayensburg Central 71, Montour 3 – Wayensburg Central powered its way past Montour, 71-3, on Wednesday night for a Section 4-AAA (4A) victory at Waynesburg Central High School.

The Raiders (3-1, 10-1) need a victory over Central Catholic next Wednesday to assure themselves a spot in the team playoffs.

Waynesburg had seven pins, three forfeits, a technical fall, major decision and decision, while the Spartans picked up a decision.

Ryan Howard (285), Wyatt Henson (120), Caleb Morris (132), Jackson Henson (138), Colby Morris (145), Caleb Stephenson (160) and Caleb Blair (170) picked up falls.

The Raiders’ Nate Stephenson earned a 20-5 technical fall in 5:19 over Nick Reconnu at 126. Teammate Kyle Homet won by major decision, 16-5, over Dante Presutti at 182, and Wayensburg’s Trey Howard edged Nico Marscio, 3-0, at 152.

The Raiders’ Spencer Lesinski (220), Hunter Shriver (106) and Michael Medlan (113) won by forfeit.

Montour’s Reno Dicesare picked up a 6-1 decision at 195 to avoid the shutout.
