By The 1 min read

Chartiers-Houston 61, Carmichaels 54 – One night after throwing a scare into third-place Frazier, Carmichaels threatened to hand first-place Chartiers-Houston its first Section 2-AA loss of the season, but the Bucs out-scored the Mikes 13-6 in the fourth period to escape with a 61-54 win in boys basketball action on Tuesday night.

Andrew Clark scored nine of his 14 points in the fourth period, including a seven-of-eight performance from the foul line, to help Chartiers-Houston (12-3, 7-0) maintain its spot alone atop the standings.

In a nip-and-tuck battle, Carmichaels led 18-15 after the first period, the Bucs led 33-32 at halftime and the score was tied 48-48 after three frames.

Matt Barrish led the tough-luck Mikes (6-8, 0-7) with 18 points and four 3-pointers. Dylan Wilson hit three 3-pointers in scoring 15 points.

Cam Hanley led C-H with 22 points. Zach Southern added 16.
