Bill’s Bit Service topples Mill Run, 11-5
Bill’s Bit Service 11, Mill Run 5 – Robbie Shea doubled and singled twice, and Nick Groover also had three hits as Bill’s Bit Service knocked off host Mill Run, 11-5, in Fayette County Baseball League action on Tuesday night.
Winning pitcher Kenny Ryan allowed two runs with four walks and seven strikeouts in five innings, and also singled twice.
Dylan Shea doubled for Bill’s, which had 12 hits, and Colby Simmons walked three times and scored three runs.
The game was scoreless through the first three innings before Bill’s (8-3-1) broke the ice with four runs in the top of the fourth and added three more in the fifth to go up 7-0.
The Millers (4-5-1) finally broke through with two runs in the bottom of the fifth, but Bill’s rang up four more runs in the top of the sixth to make it 11-2.
Mill Run pushed across three runs in the bottom of the sixth and the game was then called due to darkness.
Malone doubled and singled, and Kris Firestone also had two hits for the Millers.
